Understanding the Spiritual Child: A Special Evening Visit

Childhood is a special and spiritual time of beauty, play, and natural discovery. In this evening visit Ana will share her special educator and yogic perspective on the dynamics of a healthy spiritual childhood, and how you can foster this for the magnificent children in your lives.
Participants will explore how basic principles of Yoga and Ayurveda apply to children, such as: prakrutti/innate constitution, vrikrutti/imbalances in constitution, dharma/natural law, ahamkara/self -awareness. The nine-year change and yogic stages of mental development will also be discussed. There will be time for conversation, experientials, and play- reconnecting with your own child nature. Parents, grandparents, educators, and all others are welcome.
Ana Camacho- Hansen. Ana’s studies and work have been deeply informed by her spiritual upbringing and devotional nature. Her undergraduate work focused on women studies, political science, and English. Her graduate work was in education and business. She has been an educator since 2000, and has a background in Montessori and Waldorf education. She has trained Children’s Yoga Teachers since 2015 and specializes in teaching yoga and mindfulness to children with special needs. She is the author of Yoga for Big Hearts & Little Hands and is the founder of Growing Peaceful Hearts, Minds, & Bodies, a non-profit organization dedicated to teaching peace education in schools.
