The Recognition of Our Own Heart: Pratyabhijnahrdayam – January 10th -12th
The Recognition of Our Own Heart: Pratyabhijňahrdayam
A Weekend Adventure in Practice and Study
With Kathleen Knipp, of Pathless Yoga Montreal
January 10-12, 2020
$250 before December 15th, $275 thereafter
The study of a text is also the study of ourselves. Join a weekend of lively discussion and practice as we explore the beautiful, short 20-verse, 11th -century Pratyabhijῆahridayam, drawing upon the recently published book, “The Recognition of Our Own Heart,” by Joan Ruvinsky. The text will be used as a springboard for introducing and discussing the non-dual philosophy of Self-Recognition in Kashmiri Shaivism. No experience with text study is necessary, simply an interest in understanding Consciousness in its play as ourselves.
Weekend Schedule:
Friday 7:00 -9:00 pm
Saturday 9:30 to 12:30 & 2:30 to 5:30
Sunday 10:30 to 1:00 & 3:00 to 5:30
Kathleen Knipp: Profoundly influenced by the non-dual teachings of Jean Klein as offered through Joan Ruvinsky and Éric Baret, Kathleen shares her love of Pathless Yoga body and breath sensing, the texts of Kashmir Shaivism and iRest Yoga Nidra in Montreal and elsewhere in Canada and in the US. Co-translator of the Pratyabhijñahrdayam, Kathleen is responsible for the publication of “The Recognition of Our Own Heart,” after the death of its commentator, Joan Ruvinsky. Kathleen has been fully absorbed in the study and practice of yoga for more than 20 years. She pursues her bliss by chanting, hiking and back-packing, preferring wandering in the woods and exploring the meditations from the Vijñâna Bhairava over most sorts of formal practice.
