Mindfulness Retreat for Young Adults (18-29 years old)
With Holly Cluff, certified Koru Mindfulness Instructor
Saturday April 1, 10:30-2:30 $100
Young adulthood is full of challenges and rewards. Whether you are a student, parent or building your career there are many choices to make, fun things to discover and adventures to explore. Your days are likely filled with a variety of emotions that range from overwhelm to optimism. And you want your life to be meaningful.
Mindfulness is a skill that can help you to focus, manage stress, and appreciate what happens in every day. It can help you right now as a twenty-something, and it can be a valuable resource for the next twenty+ years of your life.
This Mindfulness Retreat is a half-day (4 hours) “workshop” for young adults to take a break and re-charge. You’ll leave with strategies you can continue to use right away. It is designed for anyone who wants to begin, or deepen, a mindfulness practice. Complete beginners are very welcome!
During the retreat you will participate in guided meditations, mindful movement and reflect on the experience of meditating and being more mindful. For most of the time you will be silent to allow your mind and body to settle and focus on the present moment. It’s a fun challenge and a great way to explore mindfulness.
Mindfulness and Meditation are popular because they help people manage life’s challenges – big and small AND get the most from life’s joyful moments. They don’t require special equipment and you can take them anywhere you go! Anyone can learn to meditate and become more mindful. In these uncertain, ever-changing times, a little mindfulness can create some ease and enhance a sense of well-being.
Mindfulness is known to improve health, build resilience, support learning, and foster compassion. The benefits are supported by neuroscience. Meditation can physically change the brain and help people develop the ability to be less reactive, more present and able to appreciate each moment. If you have wondered how to start your own meditation habit and/or how to become more mindful, this retreat is a great way to start!
Holly Cluffs interest in teaching mindfulness and meditation to others has been inspired by her work as a teacher in public schools along with her personal experience in becoming a meditator. She’s discovered that mindfulness and meditation provide great insight into understanding how to help with stress and anxiety, and also increase a sense of well-being. Since 2017, she has been teaching mindfulness and meditation as an exciting and satisfying way to engage with her community and share life skills with people of all (5-100!) ages. Holly is a certified Koru Mindfulness Instructor.
