Full Body Strength For Yogis & All
With Ren Udall, movement educator and creator of Centerline
Saturday, April 8th from 2:30 to 5:00 pm – $70
Moving well is a key factor in longevity and quality of life as we age. One pillar of moving well is strength! In this workshop, we’ll connect to the innate function of our muscles: to create the forces we need to move well, whatever our goals or needs. Enjoy moving in dynamic ways, while debunking what can often seem intimidating: how to safely incorporate resistance exercise into your life.
We’ll explore:
– the science of strength and how it relates to injury prevention, bone density, and muscle mass (metabolic and cognitive health too)
– ways to scale load with bodyweight, inexpensive props, and household items
– how strength work can improve and compliment your asana (or other movement) practice
– a new understanding of core strength, that doesn’t involve a crunch, sit up, or plank
– ways to grow your functional capacity as you build strength
Reasons to enroll in Full Body Strength:
– you’re curious about the science of strength, as it applies to your current practice and daily life
– you’d like to build more muscle mass, in ways that are relatable, scalable, and transferable
– you want to discover a new paradigm for core strength and stability
– you want to prevent injury doing the activities you love to do
– you’d like to explore nourishing movement that is playful and new
Ren Udall I discovered movement while healing from auto-immune illness during my late teens and 20s. I credit my movement practice in creating renewed ease and strength, freedom from pain, and a return to daily embodiment. Movement as a healing journey led to a career, one that is truly a passion! I enjoy working with you to explore and facilitate your body’s full capacity. Together, we’ll find ways to cultivate intelligent, fun movement, to best support your unique needs and goals.
My education and inspiration are grounded in Gyrotonic Expansion System, Restorative Exercise, Z-Health Neuro-Performance, Pilates, and Functional Movement. Continuing to be curious, play, and study new concepts are primary to my process. Currently, I’m focused on integrating neuroscience with the structural + biomechanical lenses that have informed movement education for decades. I’m exploring how better sensing ourselves contributes to stronger communities and deeper connection to our environment.
