Finding Stillness within Movement: A Second Sunday Seminar, with Emily Saunders, LCSW
Sunday, December 8 from 10:30 to 12:00
Emily will facilitate a discussion about self-care and boundaries within social justice movements. Many of us feel heartbroken about injustice in the southwest borderlands and throughout the world – and many of us feel compelled to act. How do we care for ourselves while caring for the collective? How do we respond to suffering in a way that doesn’t ultimately deplete us, but rather, enriches and sustains us? The seminar will explore how cultivating awareness and presence can support our intuitive wisdom, leading to skillful action and aliveness, even amidst crisis or change.
Emily Saunders (she/her) works with community healing and migrant solidarity projects in Ajo, Arizona on the traditional land of the Hia C-ed O’odham People. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and has pursued deep study in Mindfulness Traditions, Somatics, and Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy.
