What if we approached our minds the way a gentle teacher approaches a classroom of rambunctious kindergarteners, listening to all parts of ourselves with curiosity and nurturing collaboration?
This class is an introduction to using a somatic informed parts-work approach to navigate the choppy waters of intense emotional states. We’ll cover a very brief history of parts-work across cultures and how this framework connects to contemplative practices. And mostly, we will use the time to develop skills for the inevitable emotions of daily life.
Em Saunders, LCSW, MST (they/she) facilitates spaces for collective wisdom to grow. They spend a lot of time as a somatic therapist for neurodivergent teens and their families or practicing craniosacral therapy on O’odham and Yaqui land in Southern Arizona. Em also teaches nervous system hacks for broken open hearts, and tinkers with community mutual care projects, ritual, clay, words and hot-wired fiddles.
