The Topic for May:
As Mother’s Day has its origins as a statement by women for peace, our tradition at the Sol Center is to celebrate and honor this Sunday as Peace Day. What does Peace mean to you? How has Peace shaped your life? How did your Mom influence your views on Peace?
And since the original peace salon was a concert room in the Palace of Versailles, David will also be throwing in a musical theme. What is the sound of peace for you? Bring a song or an instrument if you like. No pressure to be musical.
Don’t stop after beating the swords into plowshares, don’t stop!
Go on beating and make musical instruments out of them.
Whoever wants to make war again will have to turn them into plowshares first.
~Yehuda Amichai
