Have you ever wondered about your feet? Often, we don’t pay attention to them unless they’re hurting. We use them all the time but do we know their sensory capacities and their power to allow and support the movement of our bodies throughout our lives? Do we really feel the contact and grounding aspects of our feet? Are foot problems reflecting other conditions in the body? What are some magical qualities of the feet?
In this 4 class series, we will focus personal attention on your feet and address all of these questions and more. Through subtle but powerful practices, you may be surprised at what you discover! This program goes beyond anatomy. It is mostly experiential – experiencing yourself more completely through your amazing feet.
Following are some features of this series:
- Guided meditation/sensing practice for experiencing the base of the body
- Contacting the ground through conscious walking and standing
- The foot’s relationship to the brain – proprioception and balance
- The basics of reflexology and how it works
- Learn the fascinating ‘mapping’ of the body on the foot
- How body tension and tension patterns reflect on the feet
- Our emotions and our feet
- The value and practice of conscious touch – contacting the sacred
- Shared and personal practice in working directly on the foot
- Simple techniques for foot self-care
Each class will include instruction time, self-practice along with shared practice and time for questions/answers/comments through group sharing.
