Contemplative healing works from the perspective of wholeness, compassion, humility, and mystery. It invites a spiritual dimension that adds to and enhances the physical, emotional, and psychological approaches we typically engage.
This afternoon session will provide an overview of contemplative healing across cultures and traditions as well as introduce a few specific voices for deeper exploration during the month. From this foundation, we will begin to engage in processes that support deeper reflection and conversation. A central contemplative question asks: What does this mean for me, in the reality of my life? What does this mean for us, how can I contribute to a greater good? In this conducive environment, with supportive others, you are more able to listen and hear what will truly help and heal.
The afternoon is designed to be retreat like with teaching, practice and discussion periods interspersed. This the first of four sessions within the Contemplative Healing module. Anyone interested in the topic or the fuller Contemplative Study Program is encouraged to attend.
