In this fascinating exploration of the spine as a universal touchpoint we will view the spine from many perspectives; all the while weaving these new perspectives into experiential practices of asana, pranayama, and meditation. At the heart of this is a new understanding of a complete, natural, unrestricted breath and way of being. As well as a new appreciation of Yoga and its relevance as a spiritual orientation to life.
In these six weeks we will explore:
- The correlation between the spine and the stilling of the mind.
- How the experience of the breath and movement connects one to deeper truths.
- Asana as innercise, and the idea of the mind moving through our spine and central nervous system as “core”.
- How our cranio-sacral pump relates to our spine and “back” breathing.
- Some key elements of Esoteric or Spiritual Anatomy.
- What it means to convert breath into prana; how we actually can experience this.
This three-hour format allows for ample time and space for discussion, demonstration, and in-depth experiential practice. Participants will receive a coursebook with related reading assignments and reflections to help prepare for and assimilate each session. Those applying for CEC’s will be required to attend all sessions and submit a post-course reflection paper to receive a certificate of completion.
