Joining Our Wilds Through Ceremony – Second Sunday Seminar
Joining Our Wilds Through Ceremony- A Second Sunday Seminar
With Kristine Bentz
Sunday, December 12th from 2:00 to 3:45
$25 by December 1st, $30 thereafter
In this session, we will explore the ways in which ceremony offers a safe and sacred container for joining wild parts of our existence: sorrow, joy, healing, transition and celebration. We will discuss the phases, ingredients and steps for enacting a meaningful ceremony in a general and more anthropological way, without adherence to any formal belief system or structure.
The emphasis will be upon collective wisdom and sharing experiences, both in the larger group and in dyads or triads as space and time permit. For novices and anyone interested in the ancient art of ceremony and ritual, this afternoon will offer gems for your own personal exploration. For those involved in our contemplative study program year, this session will be part of designing an individual and group ceremony to honor our gathering and learning.
Kristina Bentz enjoys a moon setting before dawn as much or more than a sun setting over the mountains. She is drawn to liminal space and time, serving as a companion for people who are living into dying and walking beside their kin after death. She co-creates ritual and ceremony with people to honor life’s passages and grief work, based upon their beliefs, values and stories. Since 2009 she has served in Tucson as a Home Funeral Guide and Hospice Spiritual Counselor. She holds an MS in Public Service Management and is ordained as an Interfaith Minister. Kristine is also a daughter, sister, wife, aunt, and friend who loves to sing and trail ride with her white mare.
