Join our Tai Chi classes, led by Hana Alassadi. Classes are open for beginners to start fresh or for continuing students to deepen their practice. We teach the Sun Style form of Tai Chi, one of the most accessible and gentle styles, known for its higher stance and flowing, easy-to-learn movements that make it approachable for all ages and fitness levels.
Regular Tai Chi practice offers real benefits for body and mind: it builds physical strength and flexibility, improves balance and coordination, reduces stress and anxiety, and cultivates a sense of harmony with yourself and the natural world. Many students find that Tai Chi becomes a lasting source of calm, ease, and relaxation they carry into daily life.
Sun Style Tai Chi was developed by Dr. Paul Lam, a Sydney-based family physician and internationally recognized leader in Tai Chi for Health. His programs, used and recommended by health organizations worldwide, blend traditional Tai Chi with modern medical understanding to make the practice safe, effective, and enjoyable for everyone, including those managing arthritis, balance concerns, or general stress.
Whether you’re brand new to Tai Chi or looking to keep building on an existing practice, these classes offer a welcoming space to move, breathe, and reconnect. No experience necessary, just a willingness to slow down and enjoy the practice.
Suitable for all levels. Ongoing enrollment welcome.
Hana Kobayashi Alassadi has recently completed her certification in Sun Style Tai Chi for Arthritis & Pain Prevention. Her experience with tai chi started in 2015 with Chen Style and eventually Yang and then Wu Styles. She began her mind/body learning journey with Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction in 2013, immersing herself in the mindfulness community abroad. She trained to teach with Mindful Schools, a community of over 1000 instructors, teaching in a trauma informed way. Looking to further reduce work life stress and anxiety, she expanded her practice and teaching to include tai chi and qigong. She belongs to an international community of over 100 Certified Qigong Instructors trained by Dr. Yang Yang (Wa-Qi Curriculum) New York, NY, USA. Her love of experiential practice and learning further expanded with training in Sound Therapy both with Marko Zigon of Sonic Temple, and Doris Delessard’s The Lightwork Experience, completed in 2024. Hana is passionate about living moment to moment in the present as much as possible, and sharing her love of practice with people of all ages and backgrounds. Hana believes healing happens when we feel safe and relaxed and we can achieve that by moving, stillness, and the playful balancing of doing with being.
