Chakra Sādhanā: Exploring Your Inner Solar System

The chakras are an important part of yoga’s understanding of the subtle body. They are considered real yet immaterial and have many rich symbols and associations that help the practitioner link the body/mind/spirit through experiential practice. Sādhanā implies this form of practice or sincere effort.
In this seminar we will explore the chakra system from root to crown using traditional and creative practices to strengthen the connection between physical and subtle body knowledge. Traditional methods may include asana, pranayama, mudra, bandha, mantra, yantra, kriyas; or in English, postures, breathing, gestures, muscular or positional locks, sound, image, or cleansing techniques. Creative practices will help us take the ascetic or formal element of practice into the normal workings of our daily life and relationships. Emphasis will be put upon natural observation, growing sensitivity, and regulating energy and mood rather than having extraordinary experiences or insights.
Each session will be a blend of practice, process, and teaching and provide a structured format for the continuation of that cakra practice and exploration during the week. All levels of yoga practitioner are welcome although there should be an interest to engage in a moderate physical practice, some ability to meditate, a willingness to look at lifestyle habits, and the ability to focus on the full 6 week process.
For Registered Yoga Teachers there are 9 CECs available upon completion.
*For those interested in Yoga Teacher Certification, there is an additional session to complete this module for 12 hours of Technique, Training, Practice credit.
