Mindful Relaxation: An Exploration of Three Techniques A 3 Week Series
A three week series: Tuesdays, March 6, 13, 20 from 7:00 to 8:30 pm
Relaxation is what many of us crave and need, but have forgotten how to naturally access. Much of the tension in our bodies and minds is self-perpetuated, residues of path stress or injury and habits of reactivity and over stimulation. We want to relax, be, and heal; but reflexively tense back into action and doing.
In this series of three classes we will:
- Look deeper at what it means to connect mind and body, and the obstacles that can arise.
- Practice variations of classical body meditations- progressive relaxation, body scan, body sensing.
- Investigate patterns of pain, discomfort, and distraction.
- Clarify the difference between the felt sense and cognitive evaluation, and the benefits of body based awareness.
Participants will also receive 3 audios and a short workbook for home practice and on-going development.
